Sand Paint W&T
A uniquely formulated, exterior coating which dries to a matt, chalky finish.
Recommended For
EXTERIOR surfaces.
The texture will not highlight plaster defects and imperfections as do many conventional coatings with a sheen.
Not Recommended For
Not suitable for bathrooms or in areas where washability is a requirement.
Also not recommended for interiors, but can be used where an ultra matt chalky finish is desired.
Application
PLEASE NOTE: Correct preparation is essential. All surfaces must be sound and prepared in the recommended manner. For more information
on surface preparation contact your nearest Paintsmiths store.
Thoroughly stir and apply one coat of Midas Masonry Primer to prepared surfaces using a brush or roller, at the stipulated spread rates. Allow
to dry before overcoating.
Then apply two coats of Earthcote Sand Paint using a Hamiltons 225mm Polypile roller and a Hamiltons 50mm Utility brush (for cutting in) at the
stipulated spread rate. Allow to dry between coats.
Badly patched and inferior plaster work must be coated with one coat of Midas Cemproof slurry (see separate data sheet for mixing ratios).
Then proceed with standard new work spec.
Spread Rates
Midas Masonry Primer: 7m²/litre
Earthcote Sand Paint: 5m²/litre, on good quality, one coat plaster
NOTE: The spread rates quoted are approximate and should only be used as a guide as the actual rate will vary depending on the condition
and porosity of the substrate.
