CEMPROOF LIQUID
An environmentally friendly, specially formulated Styrene Butadine-based emulsion which, when mixed with water and used as the ’liquid’ for sand/cement screeds or plasters, greatly enhances adhesion and the water resistant properties of the mix. When mixed with water and cement it is used as a waterproofing slurry, either with or without a reinforcing membrane.
Recommended For
INTERIOR and EXTERIOR surfaces.
When mixed proportionally with cement and water producing a slurry, and used conjunction with a reinforcing membrane, it is suitable for waterproofing shower bases
and walls, small screeded balconies and small planter boxes. It can also be an economical treatment to waterproof exposed and high traffic walkways.
The slurry can be applied without a reinforcing membrane on shower walls before tiling.
Can also be used as a bonding slurry when laying a sand/cement screed on concrete, or on concrete or brick walls when plastering.
Not Recommended For
Not suitable for waterproofing large areas.
Application
PLEASE NOTE: Correct preparation is essential. All surfaces must be sound and prepared in the recommended manner. For more information on surface preparation

Mixing ratios for a bonding slurry:
Cemproof Liquid 1 litre 1kg
Water 1 litre 1kg
Sand - 1.5kg
Cement - 1.25kg
Yield ± 3 litres
Application:
Dampen the surface thoroughly. Apply one coat of bonding slurry and plaster or screed over.
Mixing ratios for a waterproofing slurry used with or without a reinforcing membrane:
Cemproof Liquid 1 litre
Water 1 litre
Cement 3.5 kg
Yield 3 litres
Application with the reinforcing membrane:
· Dampen the surface thoroughly. Prime with one coat of Slurry.
· Cut the membrane to the required size, or in pieces, to fit the required area and ‘dunk’ each piece into a bucket of the mixed slurry to fully saturate the membrane. Lift
out of the bucket and place on the surface laying off with a block brush.
· Repeat this process with the rest of the pieces of membrane, allowing 50mm overlaps, to cover the complete area. Allow to cure.
· Apply one coat of Waterproofing Slurry over the complete area. Allow to cure.
· Apply a second coat of Waterproofing Slurry in covered situations.
NOTE: The slurry must still be ‘green’ (not dry) when plastering onto or screeding over and must be fully cured when tiling directly onto with a good quality tile adhesive.
IMPORTANT: It is imperative that the reinforcing membrane of the Midas Cemproof-reinforced cementitious system is 100% saturated. Application on vertical surfaces
without the reinforcing membrane:
· Dampen the surface thoroughly. Apply at least two coats of the slurry, also dampening the surface inbetween coats.
Mixing ratios for ‘liquid’ for mixing mortar or plaster:
· Cemproof Liquid 1 litre
· Water 2 litres
Application:
· Dampen the surface thoroughly first. Use as the ‘liquid’ to add to the correct proportions of sand and cement to make either a plaster or screed mix.
Spread Rates
For a mixed bonding slurry: ± 3m²/litre
For a mixed waterproofing slurry used without a reinforcing membrane: ± 2m²/litre
For a mixed waterproofing slurry used with a reinforcing membrane: ± 2.5m²/litre
For ‘liquid’ for mixing mortar or plaster: N/A
NOTE: The spread rates quoted are approximate and should only be used as a guide as the actual rate will vary depending on the condition and
porosity of the substrate.
