PLEASE NOTE: Correct preparation is essential. All surfaces must be sound and prepared in the recommended manner. For more information on surface preparation contact your closest Paintsmiths store. Stir well prior to application. Should any thinning be required, a small amount of water may be added and thoroughly mixed into Midas Omniskim Interior/Exterior. To avoid any pinhole formation in the skim film it is recommended that any porous, friable or crumbling surfaces are first treated with Midas Cemproof prior to skimming. Apply Midas Omniskim Interior/Exterior in a thin layer using a rust-free steel smooth edge plasterers skimming trowel or paint scraper. If the area being repaired requires a thick layer application, several thin coats may be required with each coat being allowed to dry thoroughly before the next coat is applied. Omniskim Interior/Exterior will shrink back slightly in deep holes and imperfections The final coat must then be sanded to achieve the required finish using 100 grit or finer sandpaper. Prior to painting any dust from sanding process must be removed by wiping down the surface with a damp cloth (not wet) and allowed to dry. Surfaces may be painted 6 – 9 hours (overnight drying is preferable) after application of Midas Omniskim Interior/Exterior with a suitable Acrylic topcoat. Provided the surfaces are sanded correctly and all the powder has been wiped off and the surfaces are free of any contamination, then a primer is not necessarily required. However, as a safeguard a suitable primer is generally recommended before applying finishing coats.
